Jean Cooper, RDH – Dental Hygienist

As a dental hygienist, it is no surprise that Jean is passionate about oral health and educating our patients on how to stay healthy so they can truly enjoy life!

Originally from Fernandina Beach, Florida, Jean earned her hygiene degree from Florida State College at Jacksonville in 2006. She also earned certification to administer local anesthesia in 2014 at the University of Florida.

Jean has been with us for nine years and has a great relationship with both patients and the members of our team.

Spending time with family is important. Her two daughters keep Jean and her husband busy. In the summertime, you can find them camping and swimming.

Patti Marotz, RDH – Dental Hygienist

Patti received her dental assistant training in the US Navy and attended Florida State College for her degree in dental hygiene. Though she is originally from Ohio, Patti has lived in Yulee for many years and now considers it home. Patti also achieved her local anesthesia certification, making it possible for her to give even more comfortable dental care.

Having fun with patients, enjoying conversations, and educating patients on how to take the best care of their teeth and gums is what she loves about working at Yulee Family Dentistry. She has been with the practice since 2007.

When Patti isn’t making our patients’ teeth sparkle, you can find her spending time with her husband and two children. She enjoys walking, working out, and reading.

BJ Powell, RDH – Dental Hygienist

BJ comes from Callahan, Florida, and attended Florida State University School of Dental Hygiene. In 2009, she achieved certification in the Perio Protect Method, and in 2013, she earned certification in local anesthetic.

BJ earned the Colgate STAR award for compassion in patient care and enthusiasm for community service. We are so lucky to have her as part of our team for the last three years!

Developing patient relationships and educating people on ways to improve their oral health is her passion. You will notice right away how dedicated she is to what she does!

When BJ enjoys her time away from the office, you can find her spending time with her husband and two kids. She is passionate about fitness and weight lifting. BJ also teaches women’s bible study.

Danielle Thomson – Dental Hygienist

Danielle Thompson is a Nassau County native with deep family roots in the Callahan and Hilliard areas. Danielle attended Florida State College at Jacksonville where she earned her degree in dental hygiene and license to administer local anesthesia in 2016.

As a new member of our team, Danielle is excited to educate our patients about all areas of their oral health and to promote full body wellness through proper oral care. Danielle strives to ensure our patients always feel 100% informed and comfortable during their visit. To her, there’s nothing more gratifying than helping patients overcome their dental fears and keeping them smiling and healthy for a lifetime.

Outside the office Danielle likes to spend quality time with her friends and family. She also enjoys traveling and cooking. Danielle and her husband are active members of Exchange Church here in Yulee and have a passion for serving in the community.

Faye Lucas – Dental Assistant

Faye joined Yulee Family Dentistry 12 years ago and she has been helping patients achieve better oral health ever since. Faye graduated from Concorde Career Institute, where she earned her certificate in dental assisting. As a Yulee, Florida, native, Faye finds herself valuing long-term relationships in our community, both with our patients and our team.

Faye enjoys time with her twin granddaughters, time with family, and going to church.

Stacey Gills – Dental Assistant

Stacey, originally from Fernandina Beach, Florida, came to us nearly 12 years ago as a graduate of Florida State College School of Dental Assisting. She loves working with patients and our team. Her true passion is helping people have comfortable, beautiful smiles. Stacey thinks dentistry is fun because you constantly learn new things!

When Stacey is away from the dental office, you can usually find her spending time with her family.

Shawna Dental ASSISTANT

Shawna is the newest Dental Assistant to our practice. She has been dental assisting for over 20 years. Shawna is originally from California but has been living all over the states with her husband who is in the U.S. Navy. They have two children. When not working she enjoys spending time with her family, enjoying the beach and other outdoor activities.

Audrey Clements – Office Coordinator

Originally from Ocala, Florida, Audrey attended Florida State College at Jacksonville and has worked at Yulee Family Dentistry since 1999 as our office manager. Audrey loves the opportunity to meet new patients in our practice, develop long-term relationships, and gets exited seeing how happy people are when they get great results from the dentistry we provide.

Audrey enjoys spending time with her husband and son riding around the beach in her Jeep and boating with the family.

Pam Parker – Front Desk Coordinator

Our newest team member, Pam, has been involved with dentistry for many years and enjoys continuing education and all of the advancements in dentistry. She is a people person and loves getting to know our patients, making their visits more comfortable, and helping patients have the best experience possible!

Pam was born in Jacksonville and lives in nearby Bryceville, Florida.

When Pam isn’t in the office greeting our patients and answering their questions, she is busy with her husband and grandchildren.

Margaret York – Treatment and Financial Coordinator

Before Margaret worked as our treatment coordinator, she worked chair side as a dental assistant for over 20 years. She graduated from Wake Technical Community College in Raleigh, North Carolina, and is originally from Garner, North Carolina.

As our treatment coordinator, Margaret gets to work closely with patients and enjoys getting to know them on a personal level. She enjoys being there to answer any questions our patients might have about their treatment or dental needs. Margaret also enjoys helping patients find a way to afford the care they need so that they can have comfortable smiles.

Margaret and her husband have twin daughters. They enjoy boating and traveling.
